These early experiences sowed the seeds of enthusiasm for a life of adventure, wilderness living skills, history, and love for the natural world.

PRESENTER/BROADCASTER BIOG
Lowrie is one of the UK’s and S4C’s most adventurous presenters/broadcasters.
Her face is a familiar feature in adventure documentaries which follow her competing in some of the toughest endurance races in the World; we have seen her living with indigenous tribes and we have seen her diving two and half miles down to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean to visit the wreck of Titanic.
As a result she has gained international success, awards and accolades such as Best Presenter and Producer (BAFTA Cymru), the Spirit of the Festival Award (Celtic Media Festival), and winner of the Media Category (National Adventure Awards).
She not only presents adventure documentaries but is also familiar to audiences of BBC Sport (TV and Radio), ITV, Channel 4 and S4C. Lowri has worked on a variety of sporting events including the Pro 12, International and Premiership Rugby, International Athletics, Marathon and Ironman races whilst also presenting two series of ‘Helimeds’.
Her journey into television was unplanned. Starting her career as children’s wraparound presenter on S4C she moved on to the channel’s youth magazine weekly show and it was on this show that she gained the reputation as the adrenalin presenter. During five years on the show, Lowri presented more 1200 hours of live TV.
A music graduate with diverse and varied interests has found herself presenting an eclectic mix of programmes. They’ve featured travel, adventure, sport and music documentaries including the once-in-a-lifetime experience of presenting two 1 hour-long documentaries following her journey to the site of the Titanic, seeing her become one of only 100 people to have dived in to the depths of the ocean to see the wreck of the vessel.
Other credits include presenter of Ralïo+ (translation: Rallying+) which followed the World Rally Championship and British Rally Championship along with the notable Ras yn Erbyn Amser’ (Race Against Time), presented, researched and produced by Lowri – a four part series following preparation and racing for one of the toughest and most extreme Ultra endurance challenges in the World in the heat and humidity of the Amazon jungle. This production gained the prestigious ‘Spirit of the Festival’ Award (Celtic Media Festival) for its outstanding quality.
The cameras continued their journey with Lowri as she pushed her boundaries in preparation for the 6633 ultra marathon – one of the toughest challenges on the planet. In the freezing Arctic setting, competitors are pushed to their physical and mental limits as they strive to complete the 350-mile endurance in only eight days. After 174 hours and 8 minutes and having spent the last 3 days of the race competing against the elements and freezing conditions alone, Lowri was the sole finisher of the 2011 6633 Ultra Marathon and became only a handful of athletes to cross the finish line. The second series, again produced by Lowri, based on her adventure in the Arctic Circle in Canada received international recognition and was nominated for 4 BAFTA Cymru awards, eventually winning Best Presenter and Best Documentary.
Over the last 6 years, Lowri has travelled the world with tribes and indigenous people in Morocco, Namibia, China, Mexico, Peru for S4C, National Geographic and international broadcasters, as well as joining the Wales Air Ambulance for 2 years for ITV. However, Wales was the location for her most recent adventure for TV in a 4 part series called the 333. The challenge coincided with Wales’ Year of Adventure during which Lowri proudly played her role as ambassador. During this adventure Lowri succeeded to complete three ultra-marathons – 150 miles in three days – taking her from the foot of Snowdon and down along the country’s highest peaks. It was a World First and in so doing set a Fastest Known Time.
LOWRI _ MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER
Lowri Morgan is a sought-after and acclaimed motivational speaker. The BAFTA-winning broadcaster, intrepid adventurer and world-class extreme endurance athlete is someone who is keenly aware of the attitude and application that is needed to achieve success.
Lowri, the broadcaster, best known for her adventure documentaries and for her coverage of S4C’s World Rally Championship is also a world-class ultra-runner. She has a coveted 6633 Ultra finish to her name, a top 10 overall finish in the Amazon’s 140 mile Jungle Marathon, part of the first ever female crew to complete and take line honours in the Three Peaks Yacht Race and also completed the 333, an unique running challenge in Snowdonia, which saw her run from North to South Wales via the country’s highest peaks in 60 hours.
Lowri has been featured in the 100 bedtime stories for Rebel Girls featured in both The Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller list.
After suffering a debilitating injury that threatened her sporting career, Lowri, in her presentations, talks about what motivates her to keep going despite hurdles and adversity. She vividly talks about the perils of running ultra marathons and the mind over matter mentality needed to succeed.
Using her keynote speech to motivate and inspire businesses, Lowri instills a positive mentality sharing some of her own experiences leaving audiences with the tools and strategies to unlock and unleash their best, most authentic selves.
She speaks with honesty, humility and passion about motivation, goal setting, teamwork, success, failure, risk-taking, overcoming adversity, dealing with change, and achieving what we set out to achieve, no matter how steep the odds might be.
The world of endurance and the world of business have similar attributes. Success in both fields require a high degree of single-mindedness, focus and application. Lowri’s audience hear first-hand stories from a highly influential athlete, who gives an insight into the passion that has led to her success. With her humble and self-effacing way, the audience start to believe that anything and everything is possible as long as they put their mind to it.
Lowri is a truly inspirational speaker who often finishes to a standing ovation.
LOWRI _ THE ‘MAM’
Having a baby clearly wasn’t going to stop Lowri and her high level of activity
After running 30 miles a week until the day before her son was born, Lowri resumed training and preparation for a return to racing very soon after giving birth. Within three weeks she was back running.
However, it wasn’t all easy. There were days when she’d struggle to complete even a mile run and the frustration of struggling to put one foot in front of another was overwhelming. She’d walk back home with a very heavy heart but would then remind myself that she was stronger, faster and better than the day before.
Getting out to run during those first few weeks and months helped her regain a sense of “normality” and when her son was strong enough to be able to hold his head Lowri ordered a running buggy.
By now some of her favourite runs included her son and Nel the dog.
When her little boy was a year old Lowri started racing again, gaining podiums and top 5 places overall in endurance races. It is at this point that she raced The Three Peaks Yacht Race with a group of 5 female athletes and became the first all female crew to complete and take line honours.
Juggling her responsibilities with her training is a delicate balance. Lowri’s “free” time is limited. Fitting in the training around her son was her priority. She no longer has the luxury of running whenever and however far she likes. Now each mile has to count. She has been forced to get smarter with the training and is no longer able to waste time running “empty” miles. Now, every run has a purpose. When she leaves the house, that run matters to Lowri and her goals.
Mornings start at 4.30am and she has to make it happen. Yes, there are many sleepless nights but she has learnt to appreciate the early morning runs even on just 5 hours of sleep. Lowri gets up early in the morning to run a marathon before many people get out of bed.
If she’s not working away, or working from home, she’s often seen running with the dog and pushing the pram and her son around the parks, which always makes her smile!
Training each day/week/month is so unpredictable when you’re juggling a busy lifestyle but this is what keeps Lowri on her toes, keeping at it and never giving up.
Lowri welcomes the opportunity, one day, to be able to tell her little boy that she was training for the best race of her life while also embracing parenthood.
